The imager reads Code 39 and Code 128 down to 3 mil, and DataMatrix and QR down to 5 mil. Typical 13 mil UPC range extends from contact to 8.6 inches on SP72-V and from contact to 7.2 inches on SP72-H, with actual distance dependent on symbol size, quality, and conditions.

SP7201 configurations focus on high-performance single-plane scanning and offer host plus optional EAS connectivity. Premium SP7208 models add ports for features such as an auxiliary handheld scanner; the optional color camera is limited to selected SP7208-V configurations.
